Pretty decent coffee shop. They brew five rivers coffee here from Tillamook. Pretty open area overlooking haystack rock. They have a nice little deli too. Service was a little slow but they were training a new person. Overall, nice stop!

A cute little joint on the more pulchritudinous end of Pacific City. Always warm on a cold, blusterous day. Plenty to eat and drink. Clean/Bright/Warm WiFi

Talk about overpriced. The coffee was good, but I would hope so for $5.50 for a 16 oz. I ordered the sneaker wave and it was delicious. I will never go back though. I ordered two drinks and two breakfast sandwiches and the total was $26! What a joke!

This is one of the worst coffee shops I've been to. It's slow, bad customer service and it's pretty small. The location is good, which is the reason for two stars, but they are under staffed and it's like the staff don't care about their customers. The drinks were ok, but no where near as good as Starbucks or Peets. It was very weird.

Spectacular looking coffee! For "stay in" service, your coffee creations are incredible - with mountains of whip cream, chocolate and other crazy toppings! Treats are available as well and the coffee itself is tasty. Some outside seating as well as inside - if it was super busy seating could be an issue, but we've never been there at a time we couldn't sit somewhere. Wi-fi is available and tables for working on projects if you need to do a little work. Friendly staff and a great view of the beach.

This cute coffee spot can is a good bet for caffeine when in Pacific City. This place is not to be compared with the stalwarts of Portland and Seattle coffee. This is a seaside coffee shop, and so you may not be dazzled if you're one of those coffee-snob city-types. Things to note: Their beans are quite good. We bought a 12 oz package, and it brews a great cup of coffee. If you're used to two shots of espresso (at least) per drink, you may want to make sure that the drink you order comes standard with two shots, and if not, order some extra. They carry Smith teas, however, I'm not sure what the expected shelf-life is for them. I was going to buy a box, but then looked and saw it was packed three years ago, which seemed a rather long time. I opted for a single cup, hoping that the stock they use for their per-cup customers was fresher. I have no way of knowing. They have Iced Coffee on the menu (one of my favorite things), but every time I've come in, they've told me all I can get is an iced americano. I've been in Seattle so long that I know the difference, and know I prefer to just get a milk (or soymilk) based drink over unknown shot quality in an americano. The pastries look tasty, the additional beverage selection in the beverage case includes Izze sodas and bottled water. It's a good place to sit down, and the nearby view and beach is great to be around. So far as I can tell, this is the best cafe in Pacific City.

Surprised at how really good this place was! A very neat place to have coffee, lunch, snacks, etc.!! Goooood coffee! And the sandwiches were in a cold case pre made so I thought they would be icky. But they were then prepared on the panini press and were very good! Will go back here for sure!

My favorite place to visit in Pacific City for coffee. Great views of the ocean and good coffee. I like the broad range of coffee and teas available, however the baked goods are something to stay away from. We have tried them twice and they aren't good. Today we ordered a Marion Berry Scone. It was more like a baking soda scone. It tasted awful. Stick to the coffee and you will really enjoy this place. PS. They also offer a 10% discount to teachers and students with ID. Pretty cool!!!

  • Rudolph S.

Coffee was exceptional but I highly recommend the cheese scone. Cinnamon rolls are monstrous and very fresh just a little too much icing for my taste.

  • John M.

Excellent espresso and eats. We drive up from Tierra del Mar in the morning for latte's and scones, panini bagel or croissants, and quiche. A family tradition at the beach for years.

  • Ella M.

Seriously the best specialty coffee place with awesome scones and sandwiches! The Salted Caramel Mocha and the Soy Caramel Macchiato were amazing! We also tried the toasted Turkey, Bacon & Pesto Sandwich and a warm marionberry scone... Those were wonderful! This place rocks, comfy chairs with outlets, ocean view and yummy food and drinks! Great for lunch and breakfast. You gotta try this! [it deserves 6 stars]

Fantastic coffee shop. Delicious espresso and pastries, wonderful view, and great service. Can't ask for anything more.

Stimulus is almost too good to be true. Great coffee. Great service. Great goodies in the bakery case. Home made bread. And... an absolutely spectacular view of the ocean and Cape Kiwanda. I am "regular" who actually is lucky enough to live in the area. I have been coming to the Stiulus for as long as it has been here. Itcould have opened up and probably gotten by on the view alone. But, they keep making it better and better. The coffe got better. Then they added a great selection of bakery items. This past year they started selling home made bread. Stimulus is not just a coffee house. It is a key community asset.

I forgot my Keurig coffeepot *and* the French press - ack! The beach house was equipped with a standard Mr Coffee machine and ... wait for it... a tin of Folger's coffee in the freezer, dated three years ago. Oh no, no, no... In a fog on our first morning there, I asked the teen to go over and get me a nonfat dry cappuccino - and oh yes, yes, yes! It was perfectly brewed, not bone-dry but not wet, either. The teen and his brother snagged a couple of their ginormous cookies, and a tradition was born. Every morning after, they eagerly volunteered to grab mom her drug of choice while they enjoyed items from the bakery case - ginormous cinnamon rolls (enough for four people!), bagels, etc. I've been there before on previous vacations, usually to check email with their free (fast!) wifi and enjoy a coffee break. This trip, however, has sealed my love of Stimulus!

They moved from Cafe Mam beans to Stumptown. Which are fine, of course, but I have my favorites. Plus, I think there is something to be said for sticking with the lesser known (but still awesome) product instead of falling into step with the rest of the masses. Location's still great. Staff is great/helpful. I miss my Cafe Mam...

Stimulus has a super convenient location in Cape Kiwanda. Yeah for good coffee with an amazing view! I had an iced hazelnut latte that was pretty good and was made with Stumptown, but in a certain way almost had too much hazelnut syrup. However, the price was perfect; not overpriced tourist trap marked up. On the other hand I also had a cinnamon roll. For almost 4 bucks I would've been better off getting a package of Mr. Pillsbury doughboy and making one myself, if only I had an oven. The decor and layout is nice enough and they do have wi-fi, so the place seems perfect for those on vacation needing a nice workspace and if you want a $40 sweatshirt that says Stimulus Cape Kiwanda you can get one of those too.

stayed the weekend here and was excited to see that they had a coffee shop within walking distance. first day ordered an americano and after some confusion by the barista on why someone would want heavy cream for their coffee, the americano was made. it was moderate. it was a little weak for an americano and felt like it needed another shot. not bad enough to not drink but just disappointing. decided to go back the next day before we left town. that experience was even worse. we ordered a mocha and an espresso con panna. the mocha was undrinkable and we tossed it when we got back to town. the espresso con panna was tiny! ordered a double and it was super small...order this on a pretty regular basis so know how much coffee there should be. the good news was that it was at least drinkable (unlike the mocha). don't think that I would go again when I am in town. not worth price for what you get.

I'm a local that loves the coffee and good food at Stimulus. There's a great view of the beach from the outside seating. The service is good but it's the great coffee that keeps me coming back.

Nothing like wakening to a cup of fog cutter Brazil coffee. It's just what I need after my night. Very cute coffee shop with an amazing view. Friendly service, they even have home made dog biscuits sometimes.

  • Makenzie W.

Wonderful customer service. Very friendly. Pastries are delicious (I recommend the hazelnut sticky bun). The coffee is fine (better than Starbucks). Would go back for the service alone, coffee needs some work. But you can't beat the location. Beautiful view of the ocean.

Morning visit during the weekday. We ordered vanilla soy latte and regular latte, biscotti and scone. Would have been 4 stars (see Not so good 1.) The good: 1. Location. Right across the road from great beach with tide pools, very safe and shallow for kids, large sand dune kids were rolling down. 2. Nice building, clean, big space, nice seating and view. 3. Drinks were pretty good. Not so good: 1. Girl working there had no interest in helping my find find their bathroom. I had to go ask for her. They share a bathroom with the hotel in the same building next door. She was snippy and didn't want to be bothered.

Pleasantly situated across the Pacific Ocean, with a view of the sand, a school of hopeful surfers and the other "Haystack" rock. The baristas are as talented as they are friendly, the coffee delicious and the pastries fresh, buttery and entirely worth the calories. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, with plenty of comfortable seating, free WiFi and a telescope for your viewing pleasure of the docile Pacific. Come, fall in love and forget that reality exists.

  • Lily S.

I had a giant soy latte yesterday as well as part of a "death by chocolate" cookie yesterday and let me tell you...sitting across from the ocean, watching the people and the surf while sipping coffee isn't a bad way to start your day. That's how I'd do it everyday if I lived on the coast. But turns out I don't, so I can't...but it's nice to think about.

I was camping nearby and came upon this awesome place. First, they have lots of great stuff that you can only get in the Pacific Northwest. Straw Propeller and Umpqua Oats many varieties (most very tasty you should try them), Hot Lips soda from Oregon, great bread from the Pelican Pub. They also have stuff that I like-organic milk, izze sodas and a wide selection of baked goods, they also have breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches (I didn't have any sandwiches so I can't vouch for those. Coffee-yum (and the reason I stopped in before and after my hike) haystack mocha-awesome, salted caramel mocha awesome. Oatmeal-awesome Selection of things to eat and drink awesome They have seating that looks out over ocean and they have books you can buy and read. Even better they open at 6am! Close at 6pm! So you can go before and after your days plans and they were open on Thanksgiving. If I am ever out on that part of the coast again I will be back-don't change anything! However, if you had soup...that would also be awesome.

My husband and I visit the area about four weeks a year and Stimulus is our go to spot for breakfast and morning coffee. The place is clean, staff is super friendly and helpful, the coffee and atmosphere good. The view? You can't beat it. I like to see the ever changing artwork and the seating area is comfortable. Favorite Beverages: Drip coffee and a regular latte. Not so much: Salted Mocha (something like that). Favorite Pastries/Desserts: cakes, bagels, quiche, pecan rolls. Not so much: Bacon chocolate chip cookie. Free wi-fi. Nice seating outside.

don't understand why they sell tee shirts that say stimulus on them. Coffee was alright. Restrooms are not in this coffee shop. You have to go outside and enter the hotel it is connected to, to use a restroom. Right next to the lookout and ocean. So, convenient location.

Good coffee, friendly service, free wifi, but could use more seating.

Wow! This place has really good coffee. I mean REALLY good. If you are in Pacific City, need some coffee and a pastry, don't hesitate to drop in. They have an large, open, and clean space with WiFi at the ready. Great coffee on the coast is rare, and you've just found one of the rarities. It's right across the street from the beach with views of the ocean.

Stimulus cafe is one of the many things I look forward to when I come to Pacific City. You can't go wrong with the beautiful view of the ocean, the entertainment of the surfers, and a great cup of coffee. I wish I could start every morning is this cafe. The ppl complaining about the staff being heavy handed on the syrups, should know not every barista makes the drinks the same and you need to ask for a certain amount of pumps.

  • Kristina K.

Stimulus is a lively coffee shop across one of Oregon's busiest beaches. Our coffees were hot and enjoyable and the service was nice. They stock highly addictive dog treats, just ask our doggie. We'd recommend this coffee shop to anyone in the Pacific City area.

  • Kyle R.

very friendly staff...call you by your first name (they didn't even know me!). excellent stumptown coffee (yay!). fast service, and you can order "real" food as well. just across the street from Pelican Pub and the main Pacific City beach access (with the dunes and the rock). open 6am to 6pm, so pretty accessible.

Love the Pecan Rolls for breakfast! Great Coffee. Not a lot of seating.

    (4)
  • Josh J.

Super Location! Lot's of seating options and THE BEST Coffee drinks in Pacific City hands down. But there is a price for those things... I guess the old "you get what you pay for" strikes again, because the prices here are really high especially for the food. Service was friendly and time it took for coffee drink to be served seemed about average.

What could make a chilly Memorial Day evening at Pacific City better? a 20 oz. VANILLA LATTE! Customer Service here is SPECTACULAR the gals were so nice and kind (the genuine kind not fake at all). Thank you Stimulus for the good cup of coffee!

Great place to hang out with the family. Good coffee and has several milk alternatives. Played chess and checkers with the kids for hours. Very comfortable and lots of seating.

Really tasty drip coffee across from Haystack where you figure the customers don't have a choice. Pleasant setting, nice baked goods for the kids.

  • Grahame D.

Better than your average beach coffee place. Ordered a 4 shot Anericano -- the 20 oz with 4 shots is cheaper than a16 with extra shot so go with a 20 and extra extra room.

Better coffee than Starbucks, made to order without error regardless of complexity. Very friendly baristas and free WiFi. Add in the beach view and it doesn't get much better.

Coffee wasn't exceptional, but this is a great place to kick back and take a break from the sun. FREE WIFI for you traveling souls that need to plug in for a bit. Chill atmosphere, nice and quiet and spacious. Bathrooms located in the adjacent hotel.

We had a great coffee experience here today. Ordered up two 16 oz lightly flavored 'wet' capuchinos. They were very good. Split a big cookie between us and it was good but we were there to try the coffee. The Stumptown coffee was pretty good tasting and we also bought a bag of beans to try out on our espresso machine at home. Nice place. Friendly folks. WiFi. We would recommend this place to friends.

  • Cole P.

Stimulus is the best coffee shop in Pacific City, but as it is really the only coffee shop in town it's not hard to do. The staff are really nice and friendly, but don't come in with a attitude because they deal with tourists all day and that gets old quickly. If you don't know what you want just ask the manager Dan or Holly and they will make you something fabulous. Every time I'm in town I love going in there grabbing something hot or cold and enjoying the view of the Cape. In winter I recommend the Mexican Hot Chocolate or Apple Cider in the summer a fruit smoothy on the beach is perfect.

  • Jen S.

Great location, great open space, great coffee. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon coastal road trip and only had coffee, but the menu looked great (lots of options, same with the pastries/cookies) and everything was reasonably priced. Really friendly staff too. Stimulus FTW!

  • Sam R.

Great location, free wifi, and fantastic view of the pacific ocean. The staff is friends and service is fast. Plenty of places to sit and read, study or lounge while sipping a chia tea or fresh pressed coffee. The music appropriate for a coffee shop and not too loud. At the level that one can listen to if they want or have in the background while talking (how can one go wrong with Bob Dylan?). The only bad thing I can say about this place is that it is so far away from where I live or it would be my new hangout. Just a note it is open from 6am till 6pm M-Sun.

Good coffee and great location. Free Internet.

  • Mike H.

I wish every day could start like this. The coffee is very good, especially the Fog Cutter Blend. The enormous hazelnut sticky bun is delicious. The folks behind the counter are friendly, even when the place is busy. All of that would make for a successful coffee shop, anywhere in the state. This coffee shop happens to be within view of Cape Kiwanda. Haystack Rock is out toward the horizon. There's even a chance you'll see a passing whale. We like to sit outside, where we can feel the ocean breeze. It's also a great spot to watch people. There are cyclists in Lycra suits, young families, and dory fishermen. Everyone is enjoying this little corner of paradise. When you order your coffee, don't forget to check the tide table on the wall.

I came in for coffee at almost noon on a Monday and the small place was already full. I paid for my take-out coffee, left a tip and waited in line to receive my coffee. After a lengthy wait near the counter, the barista served the lady who ordered after me her extra large coffee before I received my small coffee. The reason I recognize the lady as being the one who ordered her coffee after I did was because the coffee staff started chatting with her before they even took my order. The barista saw the confused look on my face and said, "Thank you for your patience..." I understand the lady must have been a regular customer, but that shouldn't mean that other customers will have to wait even longer in an already long line. The coffee turned out to be mediocre. The coffee shop's location makes it the closest one to the hotel and businesses in the area.

    (1)
  • Nathan O.

Coffee was pretty mediocre and the woman working was not the kindest.. They have a lot of space, a ton of food and extras, and decent wifi.. but its not my type of coffee experience.

I just had the Pear Ginger Spice Cake. It was some of the best I have tasted. The only thing better was the people and the service. A new great place to enjoy while here.

No Starbucks in Pacific City, yet :-), and I'm not a coffee drinker but I do like iced tea and theirs is very good. My daughter had a cinnamon roll (they apparently have them baked by restaurant across the street) which was fantastic, and my wife had a gluten free pound cake that also tasted great (almost couldn't tell it was gluten free). Came back next day for more tea and a lemon poppy seed muffin that was delicious. All in all very reasonably priced, and everything I had tasted great! By the way they also offer gluten free oatmeal to go, but may not offer a gluten free baked good everyday.

The view is nice and it is just across from the lovely pelican brewery. I was in town for three days April 12th weekend. I was excited to see them right by my campground. But I was highly disappointed with the customer service here. I will make my own coffee at camp next time or go to the brewery. I was standing in line behind a few people and had been waiting for a bit. Then a family of four comes in and behind me and the barista asks her if she would like her usual before waiting on us people standing in line. The customer replied yes but she also wanted a few other items(food and drinks for four) in which she spoke across the line of people waiting. After I finally place my order for my simple Americano I go to the bathroom to wash my cup lid they put on the dirty counter I come back and they have still not made it. Yet the family of four that was behind me is sitting down eating their oatmeal and drinking their fancy beverages. They never said a word to me except what do you want. No thank you or anything and I left them a decent tip. I was ok with them asking the family if they want their usual but not ok with having to wait for my simple order for them to make drinks and food for four.
